A wonderful amount of passion grows daily in our hearts. The motivation blossomed, while growing up in our community and culture, here in Tanzania. We have always dreamt of creating a job that does not only benefit ourselves, but others as well. We would love to continue to work with children and help to teach them all about the artistic world that surrounds them. We believe that with our loving desire, knowledge, and experience, together we can make this project work.

This project is not for our individual sake. It is for the sake of the youth of East Africa. Working together, (Pili, Tarek and Saidi), will bring a great balance of ideas. Creating a sustainable project is very important to us, and we believe, underlines our suitability for this work.

We want to draw millions of smiles on the faces of millions of African children.

Volunteer effort at the school is much needed human resource help. The AMAP curriculum is a multi-disciplinary schooling programme designed to teach young teens/students the foundation of art skills, i.e. painting, carving and casting. The volunteers’ role at AMAP is to take the skills to a professional level that would help all students sustain their lives as young artists locally or regionally.

The project gives youth the opportunity to attain marketable skills even when their families cannot afford to send them on to high school or college. Two five-month-long vocational art courses, are held within the school, and are free of cost to students who are willing to show dedication to the courses offered. Volunteers provide the teaching vehicle that helps the students throughout the one year term.

While volunteering at AMAP the helping work force is expected to perform one or more of the following tasks:

a) Volunteers of a professional art career at their country of residence and those studying art or part of an art instruction programme are expected to be involved in daily teaching duties. Tutoring would include art history, basics of art and drawing, drawing/painting techniques as well as other related topics.

b) Volunteers with prior experience in organizing promotional affairs, exhibitions or those with art gallery experience are considered an asset as they would assist in the organization of local and regional art fairs. Individuals with high organizational skills as well as office experience are also welcomed. Public relations skills and/or knowledge of Swahili language would be valued.

Subjects of interest are:

- Basics of water color / Oil painting, carving, and cement casting. - History of art, painting and sculpture from ancient times to current. - Computer education and online art encyclopedia.
